MBPros to Resume Sending Claim Reports via Email

  After numerous requests from clients and after consultation with HIPAA experts, we are going to resume sending Claim Submission Reports via email.  Although password protecting a PDF may not be sufficient to comply with HIPAA, we use Adobe Acrobat Pro which also provides AES-256 bit encryption when password protecting a file and this level of encryption does comply with HIPAA.

  For our non-TherapyNotes users for whom we send monthly reports, most users prefer that we not use ZixMail.  We will send these reports via email and password protect (and encrypt) those reports with confidential patient info.
